PROFILE
SZA INTRODUCTION
SAUTIZOTEAFRICA (SZA) – is an indigenous activist-led and managed organization for Youth, Women, Children and gender minorities that was established in 2019 by the group of Women and Youth and is registered under the directorate of Community based Services (registration No. NMC/CBO/647/22) in Uganda- Wakiso District Nansana Municipality, Kazo ward, Lugoba Zone I
The Organization was purposely established to undertake community development programs in improving the living standards, to support and take care of the poor, needy, vulnerable, orphans, disabled and street Children, youth, women as well as other identified needy persons.
This was after realizing that most of these people were living under extremely difficult situations and were in dire need of help from individuals, government, non-government organizations and people of goodwill. This is an initiative of Ugandan natives who are working tirelessly to improve and transform communities.
For the activities of Sautizote Africa, human dignity and human rights are the central frame of reference. SZA also respects cultural values of the local population and it adapts activities to social and environmental conditions.
Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world, with many people struggling to survive and provide the basic necessities for their families. Most children’s rights are a long way from being fulfilled. Poverty is increasing; the proportion of the population living in absolute poverty is now around 41%, up from 15.1% in 2010. Uganda is currently ranked among the 15th poorest countries in the world.
The high population growth rate of 3.4% per year (the third highest in the world) poses a significant challenge in reducing poverty and inequality.
BUILDING BETTER PERSPECTIVES
People are trapped in cycles of disadvantage not only because of specific issues in their life like poor health, under-education and unemployment but from the dynamic interactions between those issues. We will build a portfolio of partnerships around Four Perspectives with the potential to disrupt and reconfigure multiple cycles of disadvantage. Each perspective represents a transformative opportunity in an individual life. In aggregate, they become drivers of systemic change
• Child support - promoting Child’s Right
• Transitions to Employment - supporting transformative opportunities to access work
• Thriving communities - unlocking and amplifying the strengths of community connection, networks and belonging
